Description

WRAP an off loom weaving workshop

Learn a new skill during this one-day workshop, where you will learn how to wrap and weave a striking and colourful framed wall art panel to complement and brighten up your home.
In a small group, you will be amongst like-minded, crafty, colour loving folk with a passion for making. You will enjoy a relaxed and fun day of weaving and crafting so that you will leave WRAP with a finished piece of framed artwork and all the necessary skills to continue to make and create at home.

The workshop runs from 10am-4.30pm on Saturday, 23rd November 2024.

The cost for the day, to include all materials, a delicious vegetarian lunch, homemade cake and refreshments is £125

“No previous craft skills are necessary! – the class is designed as an introduction to off loom weaving where no loom is required and you will create a bespoke woven panel, covering all the essential techniques.”

WRAP will be taught at Sandy Shore Broadstairs, the interior award winning Art Deco home, Airbnb and shoot location of your tutor, Sam Goldbrom, @alittlevictory & @sandyshorebroadstairs.

What you’ll learn :

During the class, you will choose the perfect combination of colours to start your weaving journey. As an avid collector of vintage craft books, magazines and interior imagery, you will be spoilt for choice. All tools and materials are provided, and you will choose from a huge selection of coloured yarns to create your panel.

You will be shown the methods of wrapping and hand weaving off loom on wooden panels. Weaving in this way is a mindful, relaxing and rewarding process that enables you to create and chat as you progress. Once you have wrapped and woven your panel, you will be shown how to finish the backing and frame your artwork with the wooden frame provided, ready to take home and display.

About your teacher:

Sam has created a stylish Airbnb and shoot location venue for music, fashion and interior clients as well as working on her own artistic practice @alittlevictory. An advocate of slow and mindful craft practices and a love of the 70’s craft movement, Little Victory has been created as a celebration of these crafts in a bold and contemporary way.
